A little bit of rain doesn’t stop whale watching in the San Juan Islands!

A little bit of rain doesn’t stop whale watching in the San Juan Islands!

A little bit of rain could not take away from an exciting encounter with the T123s, a group of Bigg’s (Transient) Killer whales. This group of Transients is one of the few who have been named. T123A is a large male named “Stanley”, the female T123 is named “Sidney” and T123C, born in 2012, is “Lucky”. We were very lucky and watched them making a kill. We also found Steller sea lions, Harbor seals, Harbor porpoise and a juvenile eagle in the perfect spot…atop a National Wildlife Refuge sign! Spring continues to be an amazing time to come to Friday Harbor and hop on a whale watching tour with us! We’re only 90 miles north of Seattle, the perfect day trip.

If you’re interested in booking a tour with us, be sure to check out our whale watching tours on the Western Prince II or the Western Explorer II and if you’re coming from Seattle, read more about our Whale Watching Seattle trips!
