A stunning encounter watching the T123’s pursue a Steller Sea lion!

May 16th was quite a special whale watching trip. I’ve been out in the islands for over a decade now and have spent most of my time watching these incredible predators. I’ve seen many hunts in my days, but nothing quite this amazing. When you hear whale watchers say the orcas” went flying” you know something epic happened. Watching nature’s top predator in all its power and beauty is quite something to behold. 50 million years of evolution to make this most incredible predator. Check out this video I took yesterday to experience “flying orcas”.

Did you know we are located on San Juan Island? It’s just about 90 miles north of Seattle and makes for a perfect day trip. There are many ways to get to San Juan Island from Seattle including flying, bus, and driving to the ferry. Give us a call to talk about flight packages and options to get to San Juan Island! Get to the heart of whale country and join us on a whale watch adventure.

If you’re interested in booking a tour with us, be sure to check out our whale watching tours on the Western Prince II or the Western Explorer II and if you’re coming from Seattle, read more about our Whale Watching Seattle trips!
