We left the dock quickly as we knew that the whales were heading away from us and into rough waters.  We put the peddle to the metal and headed north.  All on board were game for the long run to have a chance at an encounter with the Southern Resident Killer Whales.

We caught up with Granny, Onyx and other members of J-pod, and the K14’s as they exited Active Pass and headed into the rough waters of the Strait of Georgia.  The water was colored by the silt of the Frasier River where the orcas were headed to feed on Salmon.  We had a fabulous visit with these amazing animals before we headed back into calmer waters and began our trip home.  Had a nice visit with some Harbor Seals at Blunden Island, and saw a few Harbor Porpoise along the way.  Another great day on the water!
