As we headed north on glassy waters reports of three different groups of Bigg’s, marine mammal eating, killer whales came in. Two of sightings where within our range so we headed in their direction. We had a beautiful encounter with two family groups made up of mom’s T77 born ~1981 and T65A born 1986 and their offspring for a total of 10 whales. After watching the orcas we headed over to Spieden Channel to catch glimpse of “Scratchy” one of the Humpback whales that has been feeding in our area this summer. On the way home, we saw a bald eagle and a couple of mom/pup pairs of Harbor Seals.
The summer continues to amaze us with sightings.
