Alex graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology with a concentration in marine biology and ecology, evolution, and organismal biology along with a minor in marine ecosystem management. She grew up with a love for orca, which originated from watching Free Willy a million times as a kid. She has a passion for conservation education and has experience working in the Center for Whale Research education center. Her goal is to build advocates for species that need our help, like the southern resident killer whales. Outside of work she can be found hiking with her dogs or lying in a hammock with a book.
