Spring is always full of surprises and is one of our favorite times here in the San Juan Islands. Everything is lush and green, there are fewer boats on the water, and the general pace is a bit slower. While we don’t expect to see whales every day in the Spring, our wildlife sightings do not disappoint and we do often see Orca Whales and Humpback Whales traveling through the area. Spring is the best time of year to see the largest sea lion in the world, the Steller Sea Lion, as well as Bald Eagles, Porpoises, Seals and lots of Sea Birds.
