A Two Species Day!

A Two Species Day!

June 29 2025 – We started out the trip by heading south down San Juan Channel. We stopped at Whale Rocks to spend some time with the Steller Sea Lions that were sleeping and bickering on the shoreline. We had a report of Bigg’s Killer Whales north of Friday Harbor so we turned back the way we came and eventually got on scene with a family of four, known as the T123s! They were being typical Bigg’s as they zigged and zagged, generally heading north. We got a great pass from the big male, T123A “Stanley”, before we headed off further north where we got to spend some time with humpback whale BCY0324 “Big Mama” and her latest calf! A two species of whale day!
