May 12, 2024 – We left Friday Harbor with a report of killer whales inner island in a tricky place to watch them so we decided to go explore for a bit with the hopes that the whales would continue to travel into a more favorable area. We got to check out a few Steller sea lions on Spieden Island and some bald eagles in the trees. Fortunately for us, the whales were cooperative and we had a wonderful encounter with the T124As. This spunky group has two adult females and four whales under the age of five, including a newborn that is only a few months old! The kids were all chasing each other around and playing together which gave us some great looks at them! Such a fun trip!
