Western Prince II AM & PM: July 10, 2016

A day of surprises and special encounters close to home. On our first trip of the day, we left to find a group of Resident Orcas when we suddenly spotted blows where we did not expect them…..we just found a group of Transient Orcas, identified as the T46A’s. After spending a nice amount of time with them, we moved on to find 3 lung feeding Minke Whales, what a special treat! On our second trip of the day, we caught up with the Resident Orcas and had a beautiful encounter with part of J-Pod including Slick with her calf Scarlet and big male Mike. Another surprise was seeing three juvenile Steller sea lions, who would normally have migrated to Alaska in late spring.
