September 7, 2023 – On this day Naturalist Alison was a stowaway on the Western Explorer II with Caption JB and Naturalist Chris. We headed south and made it to a small T-Party yesterday. Three matrilines present including the T65A’s, T99’s, T37A, 37A2 and 37A5, 13 Orcas total. T37A2- Inky – a 14 year old male was having fun with 2 other teenage males, 17 year old T65A3 and 14 year old T99C. The boys were frolicking and we even got looks at a dork, the formal word for a whale penis. The mom’s and other siblings were just cruising along as the boy’s frolicked a little ways behind! We also got to take a quick look at “Victory” the Humpback and loads of Steller Sea Lions on the way back. Thanks for the fun trip JB and Chris! Report by Naturalist Alison.
