An amazing whale-of-an-adventure unfolds in the San Juan Islands!

An amazing whale-of-an-adventure unfolds in the San Juan Islands!

When we left the dock at Friday Harbor today we had no idea what an adventure we were about to encounter! Heading north up San Juan Channel, in sunny and calm conditions we spotted two Humpback Whales. As we were viewing the Humpbacks, Captain Michael announced that Killer Whales had been sighted way south in Canadian waters by Discovery Island. Saying goodbye to the Humpbacks, we headed full speed south and after a very long run, meet up with two groups of Bigg’s Killer Whales. With these two groups together, the T101’s and T124A’s, we enjoyed watching ten whales in a tight grouping. What a special treat and more then worth going a long way.
