Pictures include the Turn Point Lighthouse on Stuart Island with the Olympic Mountains in the background.   From there we headed south to Henry Island where we started our encounter with the L12 sub-pod of Southern Resident Killer Whales.  The whales were traveling close to shore as the rounded Kellet Bluff.  The first ones we saw were L41 – Mega – 39 year old male.  He surfaced just ahead of his sister L77 – Matia – 29 year old female.  Next we saw their younger sister L94 – Calypso – 21 year old female and her calf L121 Windsong – 18 months old.  After we passed Henry Island heading south a few whales came off shore including L85 – Mystery – 25 year old male, and L25 – Ocean Sun – female who is estimated to be 88 years old!  After a great encounter with the whales we headed over to Spieden Island.  Along the way we and saw some Harbor Seals hauled out on Sentinel Rock, then the exotic game animals on Spieden.  Another great day on the water!!
