Boiling reef was boiling yesterday afternoon. Crazy water – just lovin’ these big tidal exchanges! We had a fabulous encounter with 9 Bigg’s (Transient) Killer Whales.  Their alpha-numeric designations and birth years are as follows: T123 (1985), her son T123A (2000) & daughter T123C (2012), T75B (1994) and her calf (2015), and T36A (1990) and her calves T36A1 (2005), T36A2 (2012) & T36A3 (2015).  They were traveling in a nice tight group through the upwellings just north of Patos Island. We also had a bald eagle soaring overhead, a few Harbor Porpoise here and there and great harbor seals on the way back to Friday Harbor.
