Whale Report: June 18, 2023 – T123s and T46B1s

June 18, 2023 AM – We headed out of Friday Harbor on a calm and cloudy day for another adventure in the San Juan Islands. We stopped by Spieden Island and checked out some Harbor Seals and Eagles then continued into Haro Strait. We had a report of some killer whales and it turned out to be a collection of two families of Bigg’s Killer Whales! It was a group of eight animals including the T123s, T46B1s and an additional female, T46C2 “Sam”. We had a gorgeous close pass from all the animals as they traveled together in glassy calm water. T123A “Stanley” is an adult male killer whale and it was fun to see him traveling with the T46B1s and their new calf that is only a year old! As they continued to travel, we got some amazing looks at them as well as got to hear their exhalations very clearly because it was so calm out!
