Minke Whales and the T46Bs!

Minke Whales and the T46Bs!

July 13, 2025 – We headed south and out to the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Conditions were gorgeous, and we had some incredible sightings of a few minke whales on Hein Bank! There were at least two minkes actively feeding on bait balls over and over! With all the bird action, schooling fish, and minke whales lunging through it all, we were stoked at all the excitement. Only a few miles away, there was a report of a family of Bigg’s Killer Whales, the T46Bs! This family has so many young whales, including T46B3A “Munro”, who was traveling close to his mother T46B3 “Sedna”. This cutie is only a few months old and adorable. We also got great views of the rest of the family as they traveled west.
