Wonderful Whale Watch with J pod!

Wonderful Whale Watch with J pod!

Perfect wildlife viewing weather made for an incredible day! The sky was slightly overcast and the water was calm and glassy. Early on in our trip we made our way past a large group of Harbor Porpoise and discovered a couple Bald Eagles in the same area. Once past the beautiful islands Sucia and Matia we met up with part of J Pod. The whales, tightly grouped and traveling, included large male Blackberry, Oreo and Cookie. It was magical to watch then break through the calm water. Just after our captain announced we would be getting our last looks, one of the whales treated us to a breach! On our way back, we stopped at the Patos Lighthouse and to view hauled out Steller sea lions. In the middle of a big pile of Stellers, one California sea lion was being used as a pillow!
