We start this foggy morning with a slow trip through Cattle Pass and out on to Salmon Bank. Creeping along to the north, one of the crew spots a fin appearing…and quickly disappearing, in the thick fog. We cut the engines and listen. LISTEN. Slowly forward again, and we are rewarded with hearing a blow! There is quite nothing as magical as orca whales in the mist! We are graced with the presence of J Pod, including the new little J-56. Oreo and Cookie spent a lot of time with us as well. On the rest of the trip, we found harbor seals and steller sea lions on Whale Rocks and an adult bald eagle.
