Whale Watch Report: June 15, 2019 AM – Western Prince II

On this spectacular June morning, we headed out from Friday Harbor, through San Juan Channel to search for wildlife. Headed south initially, we got a report of better weather and interesting wildlife to the north. Away we motored and soon wound up viewing three adult Bald eagles high in the trees of Spieden Island. We continued on to discover many Harbor seals hauled out on rocky outcroppings around the Cactus Islands! (yes, you can find cactus in the San Juan Islands!) Within the next hour, we found two Humpback whales moving north in Haro Strait. We were able to travel along for an hour as we watched this pair of amazing Humpback whales transiting the strait. What a great whale watch trip!
Oh, did I mention…sunny skies and flat water?!
