July 23, 2023 AM – It’s not every day that we have whales only 15 minutes from the dock! A group of killer whales known as the T65Bs were found inner island, just off the Shaw Island ferry dock! We got to watch this family of four navigate through an inner island channel known as Cayou Channel. We got some great looks at the newest member of the family, little five-month old T65B3. He was doing some very typical baby things like popping up right next to his mother and surfacing extra high so that we could see his whole face and eye patch! We also got to watch as the family traveled in front of the Orcas Ferry dock and one of the Washington State Ferries! Nothing gets more iconic than a ferry and some killer whales! We even got a chance to check out some of the steller sea lions in Cattle Pass.
