We were very lucky to have whales close by today and 2 species no less!  On the way down to Salmon Bank area we stopped to see lots of Harbor Seals and their pups on Mummy Rocks.  Then had fun watching a Bald Eagle chick practice flapping its wings at the edge of the nest.  Mind you this Eagle chick is close to the size of an adult, and will be fledging the nest any day now.  Then it was on to see several members of J-pod.  They were spread out over a large area, but several small groups travelled past our boat as they headed south.  Of the many whales that we saw I was able to identify J39 Mako (male, born 2003), J47 Notch- the second picture down- (male born 2010),  And J36 Alki (born 1999) with her young male calf J52 Sonic (born 2015)!.  Aliki and Sonic are the last two Orcas that we followed before heading off to see the 2 humpbacks near Cattle Point.  It is not very often that you get a picture of a humpback fluking and the Cattle Point Lighthouse in the same shot.
