First trip of the Season!

First trip of the Season!

March 25, 2026 – Our first trip of the 2026 season was a blast! It started out with a classic Pacific Northwest forecast: scattered showers and windy conditions. Regardless, we set out with excitement at the chance to explore the beautiful San Juan Islands. We headed north to Spieden Island to check out the Mouflon Sheep, spotting several new calves with their mothers, as well as some massive Steller Sea Lions cruising in the current. We then got a report of a Gray Whale inner island, so off we went! We had some great looks at the gray whale as it surfaced. We spent some time there before Capt. Ivan got a report from a local water taxi that they had spotted some killer whales not too far from us. We headed off to try to find them, and we were successful! It turned out to be 5 whales, the T124A4s and the T86A1s. Two species of whales in one trip!
