Sunny day with Orcas

Sunny day with Orcas

March 26, 2026 – It was a beautiful, sunny day, and we had killer whales right outside the harbor! We started our trip by checking out some harbor seals and a bald eagle, and then headed right over to visit with one of the most iconic families of Bigg’s Killer Whales, the T19s! This family of three consists of Mom T19 “Mooyah” and her two adult sons, T19B “Galiano” and T19C “Spouter”. All three were taking a leisurely cruise up San Juan Channel, and we had some great looks at them. After a while, we headed off to see what else we could find and spotted several Steller Sea Lions on Spieden Island. We also spotted some mouflon sheep down by the water, snacking on the algae that grows on the beach. Finally, we headed through Johns Pass and down through the Cactus Islands to check out more seals. By that point, the killer whales had made their way further north, and we got a few more looks at the trio as they fought the current along Green Point with those massive Steller Sea Lions in the background!
