July 4, 2026– We departed a bustling Friday Harbor this morning and were greeted by an early show of bald eagles at the mouth of the harbor– two bearers of good luck to come! We turned left and started travelling north up San Juan Channel before we made a stop at Sentinel Reef to check out a group of harbor seals! We decided to take a risk and head to the very north of our range in pursuit of a report of killer whales, and boy did it pay off! We got on scene with three different groups of whales, numbering as much as 13 whales in total! They gave us quite a show of tail slaps, rollings, and even breaching!
