June 20, 2026– The summer sun is shining here in the San Juans! A report of killer whales drew us north up San Juan Channel, where we made our first stop to check out harbor seals hauled out at White Rocks. We didn’t have to go too far after our initial stop, as the T100 matriline passed just ahead at Point Disney on Waldron Island! We traveled west with the group of four whales, T100 “Hutchins” and two of her kids, T00C “Laurel” and T100F “Estrella”. After a remarkable look at this group, we continued west to Stuart Island to check out Turn Point lighthouse and spotted an Eagle on the western shore! We continued south toward Friday Harbor and cruised past the north side of Spieden Island, where we found an eagles’ nest in the Cactus Islands!
