May 10, 2026– Lucky girl summer is in full swing! We left the harbor and had a very short way to meet up with the T49A’s, and got some really great looks at the family all traveling together up San Juan Channel. After a good look at them, we continued our way north to Spieden Island where we saw Steller’s sea lions, eagles, and sika deer! We circumnavigated the island and stopped at Cactus Island to check out some harbor seals hauled out. On our way back to the harbor, we received a report that the T49A’s had continued north and were in front of Jones Island. We decided to take a detour to see them, and followed the family back to Spieden where they decided to get up close and personal with the Steller’s. We got a really cool display of group defense from the sea lions!
