May 24, 2026– The sun is back in the San Juan Islands! We had a lovely morning out on the Salish Sea today, with a spectacular encounter with the T19 family group. This family started out doing longer dives but surfaced close together, but about halfway into our encounter, the three whales spread out across Cayou Channel, which is when we believe mom T19, nicknamed “Mooyah”, hunted a harbor seal. Her two boys, T19B “Galiano” and T19C “Spouter” joined back up with her, and even spyhopped several times! We also got to see a number of bald eagles, harbor seals, and sea birds!
