Scuttles to Humpback Whale!

Scuttles to Humpback Whale!

June 15, 2026– This morning, a report of whales out east took us all the way out to Rosario Strait! We took a beautiful route, staying interisland to enjoy the beautiful scenery of our islands’ coastlines. After running all the way to Allen island, we found the humpback nicknamed “Scuttles”! We gave us a great show of his fluke, and after a nice encounter with him, we moved on back west. On the east side of Lopez, we found a grey whale foraging in Shoal Bight. We got a rare glimpse at his fluke, as well! On our way home up Rosario, we found a Steller sea lion hauled out on a can, and got a very cool look at Mt. Baker. Back in San Juan Channel, we made one last stop at Turn Island to find my favorite islander, Alfredo the sea otter!
