Double Whale Dipping

Double Whale Dipping

July 18, 2026– Another Sister Saturday for the books! On this day, Captain Bethany brought us north, and we made our first stop in the Cactus Islands to look at a few harbor seals! After a nice stop, we continued northwest up to Stuart Island, where we found two species of whales!! We started out by focusing on the humpback whale in front of Turn Point Lighthouse, who turned out to have a baby swimming alongside her! They both showed off their flukes several times but eventually, they waved us goodbye and we turned south to meet up with the killer whales! We ended up following them into the Canadian side of Haro strait. They also showed off the flukes to us with some tail slapping!
