Orcas Island Circumnavigation

Orcas Island Circumnavigation

July 27, 2026 3pm trip – On today’s afternoon trip we made a circle all the way around Orcas Island. We began with a stop to see some harbor seals taking a rest on some rocks, and then continued north through President’s Channel to meet up with the T100s near Clark Island. When we first arrived on scene, we noticed a harbor seal in the water so we watched while we waited for the whales to come up from their dive. To our surprise, one of the whales decided to make the harbor seal it’s dinner right in front of us! We were shocked by this and got to see first hand the circle of life between killer whales and harbor seals. The whales then become a bit surface active so we were blessed with some flukes, spyhops, and even a breach! It was a lovely trip spent with the T100s among other wildlife in the Salish Sea.
