Humpbacks and Biggs!

Humpbacks and Biggs!

16 August, 2026– Another stellar sister Saturday for the books! We started our morning heading north, and made a stop at flattop island, a National Wildlife Refuge, to see a haul out of harbor seals! We couldn’t spend too long with these cuties, because we had to run up north to follow up on a report of whales in the Strait of Georgia. Once we got there, we were truly in whale soup! We spent time with the humpback whales “Nike” and “Seltzer”, who both showed off their beautiful flukes! We spent a nice chunk of time with those two, and saw other distant humpbacks in the area, but we got a report of killer whales on the way home so we had to run down to see! We saw two matrilines traveling together– the T19s and the T49As, who were rounding the corner of Saturna Island.
